“I’ve been fortunate to be able to provide for my children. I want to do my part to make sure other kids get the opportunities in life they deserve." (Stuntman Stu)
Several years ago, I worked with a local television station on a show called Ottawa Living - which was - you guessed it - all about living in Ottawa! I was the 'Girl Around Town' and the show was hosted by a local radio personality, Stuntman Stu.
Recently, Stuntman Stu (who can be heard every morning on 93.9 BOB FM) launched his own wine label to raise money for the Sens Foundation. The Sens Foundation is an organization that supports hundreds of local charities dedicated to improving the lives of children.
Two dollars from the sale of every bottle goes to the Sens Foundation. Stuntman Stu teamed up with Ottawa sommelier Debbie Trenholm, president of SavvyCompany for this fun project. Because I am no good as describing wine to other people other than saying: "It was SO good! You have to try this wine!" I'm going to use a quote from Debbie Trenholm to describe the taste of this amazing Merlot: "This medium-bodeid Merlot has aromas and tastes of black cherry and plum, with a peppery finish. It is smooth and easy to drink with anything from pizza to barbeque steak."
I was given a bottle of Stuntman Stu's Red Line Merlot VQA 2008 to try and I can honestly say it was one of the best Merlot's I've ever tasted! And, um. I drink a lot of wine! It was smooth and I polished off 2 glasses in a very short period of time.
Do you want to try this yummy wine, too? Well - I am giving away a bottle right here! Just leave me a comment telling me what your favourite type of wine is. I will pick a winner using random.org next Wednesday, August 4th!
Contest is open to anyone who lives in Ottawa, or is willing to come to Ottawa to pick up the yummy bottle of wine!
Good Luck!
Stuntman Stu Red Line Merlot VQA 2008 can be ordered from www.stuntmanstu.com orwww.savvycompany.ca for $19.95 a bottle ($239.40 per 12-bottle case).

ReplyDeleteI like Pinot Noir for red wines, and Chardonnay in white. Mostly I like to have the excuse to sit down and enjoy a glass of wine:) Great contest and how wonderful for Stu to give back to the community this way!
ReplyDeleteOh boy, what wine don't I love!?
ReplyDeleteI will have to go with the Cono sur Viognier (Chile). And I also love the Blomidon Rose (Nova Scotia winery where my bro is the winemaker!). And that's excluding all the beautiful Italian Prosecco's (how I love them!!)

At the moment, one of my colleague's and I have been pairing dessert wines with sweets.
ReplyDeleteMost recently, we paired a absolutely lovely Jost Vineyard's (Nova Scotia) raspberry wine with chocolate truffles.
I am in love with Gewurztraminer...very light and smooth :)
ReplyDeleteAh! Super cool for him! What a great idea. I love zinfandel, but I'm no wine expert. As long as it's not crazy dry, I'm in!
ReplyDeleteNow this is my kind of giveaway! I am a lover of all wine, but my favorite is probably a meritage. There are several blends I really like, but I love the complexity and how the three wines balance each other out so well.
ReplyDeleteWine? I love wine! Especially reds. My faves are Shiraz for everyday (*cough*) and a lovely Amarone for special. This Merlot sounds lovely!
ReplyDeleteOh, fantastic! I would love to try this wine! Thanks for this great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI met Stuntman Stu once because he was donating his time to a charity golf tournament that was very near and dear to my heart. He is a real gem of a guy -- so generous to local charities here in Ottawa.
My fave wine is a good Australian red.
Love me some wine!! My favourite would have to be an Australian white, preferably from Wolf Blass.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great giveaway!

ReplyDeleteI love WolfBlass yellow label it's unbelievable, It's a red. And LOVE Rosemount shiraz ... fabulous. And before I got into reds I was a huge fan of the White Zinfendale by Ernest and Julio Gallo ! YUMMMM
